Her Marriage

It was a on a chilly February evening in the year 1997 that the beautiful young lady of Gandhi family and a lesser known businessman from Moradabad tied a knot. It was a fairytale wedding, in which Priyanka was clad in a red South Indian saree, which belonged to her grandmother Indira Gandhi, and she looked mesmerizing.

The marriage ceremony took place at 10, Janpath. It was a two hour long Hindu ceremony around a fire with a dozen Kashmiri pandits present. 
 A classy dinner hosted by the Gandhis followed after the marriage ceremony. Bride’s deceased father, Rajiv Gandhi was missed all through the wedding. His photographs and paintings were all over the house. It felt as if he was there to bless his newly wed daughter.
